2011 KTM Street Demo Day!
You Shoulda Been There
If you�re one of those who have been fascinated by the KTM Streetbikes, Sunday April 3rd was the day to find out just how great they are. Your friends here at Thousand Oaks Powersports and KTM Motorcycles parked the KTM semi at the base of some of the finest street bike riding in Southern California to let all who wanted, ride the new KTM�s.
Our local weather guesser predicted a rainy morning but, as is usual, the guesser was wrong and we had a dry day. A little overcast and chilly, but a great day for a test ride. We had the new RC8, Supermoto R, Supermoto Travel, 990 Adventure and the 690 Enduro available to ride. A great assortment of bikes that will take you anywhere you want to go, as fast and comfortable as you want.
Rex, our �King of the Canyons�, set up a great test ride loop with just right amount of fun curves, quick straights, elevation changes and great scenery. We started the day at 10AM and when we packed up the truck at 4PM, there was no bike left unridden all day. Fifty riders took us up on our offer to ride the new KTM street bikes and at the end of every ride there were nothing but huge smiles in their helmets.
Most everybody rode at least three different KTM�s during the day. People that thought they only wanted a travel bike, loved the Supermoto R. Riders that thought the RC8 Superbike would be motorcycle Nirvana�well, they were right. However the most enthusiastic group were those that rode the 690 Enduro�Enduro riders are a unique breed.
At the end of each ride we asked everyone to take a few moments to tell us what they thought of the KTM motorcycle they just rode. �Surprisingly comfortable, ample power (more than), overall a fun ride� Alvin Egerer RC8; �Super comfortable, super stable especially in corners� Jim Liberty, Supermoto Travel; �LOVED the RC8, great fun� David Fleck, RC8; �Looking for an alternative to the BMW GS- the 990 Adventure has the horsepower/torque/brakes/handling to take on ANY bike on or off the road� Mark Sovern. 990 Adventure and lastly; �good ride, good people�way different than my cruiser�, David Rice, Supermoto Travel. No kidding Dave!
